Festive Greetings To Our Supporters

Festive Greetings To Our Supporters

Jack Ciullo24 Dec 2024 - 07:00

Club Message

Dear Supporters, as we approach the festive season, we want to take this opportunity to reflect on the year gone by and thank each of you for your unwavering support of Rossington Main.

Whether you’ve cheered us on from the sidelines, followed our journey on social media, or contributed behind the scenes, your dedication has been the heartbeat of our club.

This year has been a rollercoaster on and off the pitch. From the highs of witnessing incredible individual and team performances to the challenges we’ve faced together, it’s your loyalty and passion that have driven us forward. While we may not have achieved all the results we had hoped for, the character and resilience of all our players, coaches, volunteers, and staff continue to shine through.

Our first team has shown flashes of brilliance but lacked a little consistency at times, partly due to injuries and, of course, a managerial change. That said, we have no doubt in the squad’s commitment and determination to rise to the challenges that lie ahead.

Meanwhile, our development team has faced a tough first half of the season. Things haven’t gone as planned, but we are tackling the challenges head-on, confident that the tide will turn. This young squad is learning valuable lessons that will only make them stronger, and we're proud of the spirit they continue to show week in and week out.

Our ladies teams have also seen significant changes this year, but their commitment and unity have been truly inspiring. Their journey is a testament to the passion and perseverance that define Rossington Main. Let’s not forget the fantastic Adobe Women's FA Cup run by our ladies first team—truly amazing and even mentioned in the House of Commons!

As a club, we should also reflect on the contributions of players, club officials, managers, and coaches, past and present. We extend our gratitude to them for shaping Rossington Main into what it is today. Let’s also not forget the small group of volunteers who dedicate countless hours, week in and week out, to keep everything running smoothly. Many of them have devoted years to building and supporting the club.

Chairman Daniel Linstrum said: "While my own time at the club has been short compared to many, I see firsthand what this club means to every single one of them. Their commitment is truly humbling, and their passion is the foundation on which this club stands. Of course, we can’t please everyone all the time, and there are moments when we might get things wrong or when opinions differ. But that’s what makes football so special—it’s a game of opinions, debate, and passion. If we all thought and acted the same, it would lose its magic."

"Rossington is one of the largest villages in the country, and it continues to grow with new houses being built every week. If you’re new to the area, I encourage you to come down and support your local team. Football has the unique ability to unite communities, and we’d love for you to be a part of our journey. For families with children looking to get into the sport, I’d also like to give a shoutout to our neighbours at Rossington FC. They would be more than happy to help your children get involved."

"While there’s always rivalry in football, as an Everton fan for my sins, and having witnessed many Merseyside derbies, I’ve learned that rivalry should stay on the pitch. After the game, we can all come together as friends and supporters of this wonderful community."

"Off the pitch, we continue to strengthen the foundation of the club. Hosting Doncaster Rovers Academy games and working closely with our local community has been a source of immense pride for us. Our media team has done an exceptional job expanding our reach and sharing our story far and wide. While the weather may have slowed down some of our ground projects, the vision for Rossington Main FC remains bright and full of promise."

"Looking ahead to 2025, we are excited to tackle the next chapter of this journey. There will be new opportunities, partnerships, and challenges, and I am confident that together, we will make it a year to remember."

"Finally, to every supporter, volunteer, player, coach, sponsor, and staff member—thank you. Your contributions, whether big or small, in the past, present, or future, make this club what it is: a family."

Here’s to 2025 and the continued journey of Rossington Main FC.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year, Rossington!
