Rosso return home following three consecutive away matches in all competitions as they host the Steelmen in Doncaster on Saturday.
Doncaster’s highest ranked Non-League side feature at home following a midweek advancement on penalties against Brigg Town in the Northern Counties East League JCP Construction Cup last Wednesday and then a tough 4-1 defeat away at Penistone Church.
Following a historic NCEL double last season whereby Parkgate not only achieved promotion from Division One but doing so as champions, they also defeated NCEL Premier champions Emley AFC at Scunthorpe United’s Attis Arena in the league cup final to top off a truly remarkable season, especially after narrowly avoiding relegation the season prior.
Following manager and club legend Ben Hunter stepping down as first-team manager during the week, club captain Greg Young will lead the team on an interim basis with Saturday afternoon’s fixture against the newly promoted Steelmen being his debut in the dugout.

Last Time Out v Parkgate
During Rosso’s promotion winning season in 2023, the Steelmen who eventually escaped the relegation zone took the points at Oxford Street in a four-goal thriller. Jordan Buckham levelled the hosts early into the second half and to cancel out Robert Ludlam’s opener however, Parkgate restored their lead through Bradley Morton before Ross Duggan confirmed the away win in front of 204 spectators during the New Year.
