Rosso are back in action this Saturday with an away trip to Bradford in what will be Greg Young’s first official game in charge since being appointed the new permanent first-team manager earlier in the week.
Rosso are ready to make the trip over to face the Dennyboys following a brilliant bounce back win at the weekend against a well-organised Tadcaster Albion following an own-goal and a late Ashley Worsfold winner. The match which concluded the fifth game as interim manager for Young meant that he had achieve three wins out of five since taking temporary reigns but the man with 732 career appearances, 119 of these for Rosso including 17 goals will have his first official debut in the dugout away at Dennyfield.
The Dennyboys come into the fixture after another impressive start to the season of which Danny Forrest’s side already sit around the play-off stage early in the Northern Counties East League Premier 2024/25 season.
Last campaign after the Dennyboys’ promising start, Thackley’s poor run-in saw them drop out of the play-off places in a season whereby Rosso poised the better head-to-head record having both drew and beat this Saturday’s hosts to collect four points out of possible six last.

Last Time Out v Thackley
In what proved to be a crucial six-pointer in the race to finish in last season’s NCEL Premier play-off spots, Rosso came out on-top with an impressive two-goal victory in front of 181 spectators at Oxford Street. In early March, Manasse Kianga’s goal on the 67 minute saw Rosso go in front before Liam Hardy confirmed a priceless three points with the game’s second two minutes from time.
