Rosso bring a point back from Beverley following a debut goal from Oliver Nowak and a Shay Buxton penalty save at Norwood Park.
Nowak opened the scoring on the 57 minute in what was his first touch in a Rosso shirt after being substituted on moments before. The number 11 delivered a moment of individual brilliance following a front post back-heel into the goal after Mohammed TJ Ibrahim’s squaring pass from the left.
Four minutes later, Edward Birch put The Beavers back on level terms. On the 82 minute Shay Buxton provided an impressive save onto the post to deny Glen Sani from scoring a penalty of which was a questionable decision to award the spot kick in the first place.
Both sides came close to finding a winner as Harry Middleton rattled the post from long-range and Beverley were whiskers away at the death but the scoreline ended in a draw.
The Beavers had the first major chance of the game after ten minutes on the clock when play should of been brought back for a Rossington free-kick however, Beverley’s number 11 Birch put the attempt well over the crossbar.
Rosso registered their first attempt on goal 12 minutes later after some good linking up between Mitch Langton and Ashley Worsfold. Rossington’s captain for the day Langton did brilliant to put the ball one way and get round his man the other before breaking away. The born and bred Rosso number five attempted the dinked effort and despite a good go at it, The Beavers shot-stopper Jonathon Dash made the save.
Following an instantly quashed penalty appeal by the hosts, Brandon Murillo delivered a brilliant piece of defending which prevented The Beavers from being clean through on goal, following the good bit of play, Rosso had a goal-kick.
With three minutes to go before half-time, Langton was almost in from close range however, an unfortunate bobble for Rosso meant that Dash could sweep up any danger for Beverley.
After the restart and following Charlie Wood being subbed off for Nowak, in what was his first touch in a Rosso shirt, the number 11 back-heeled the ball into the net at the near post following a cross from TJ Ibrahim on the 57 minute.
Despite taking the lead, Rosso wasn’t in front for long as The Beavers hit back four minutes later through Birch after an uncleared piece of defensive play.
Following the equaliser, Buxton in-goal for Rosso provided a couple of important saves after a double attempt from Beverley before halting an on-target free-kick at the top corner.
After another Rosso substitution, shot-stopper Buxton delivered another moment of brilliance with a penalty save after pushing Sami’s penalty onto the post and out to keep the score level.
Middleton up the other end for Rosso almost won it for Greg Young’s side as Dash could only watch the long-range attempt hit off the post but the three points wasn’t to be for neither side as Rosso split the points in front of 324 at Norwood Park.
