Rosso bounce back to winning ways with three well-taken goals to confirm three massive points for Greg Young’s side at Oxford Street.
Ross Hannah rampantly gave Rosso the lead midway through the first half with a low driven bullet from outside of the box which fired into the far bottom corner. Hannah then double his tally for the afternoon with a well-taken spot kick four minutes before the interval.
Will Sutton extended Rosso’s advantage on the 51 minute after the break when he fully utilised a brilliant cross to the back post by Manasse Kianga.
The battle between Rosso and The Poachers got underway with a fairly even start from both teams following a minute’s silence at Oxford Street. On the 14 minute Kianga made a great run down the right hand side and almost found Hannah in the middle however, his squared effort was just cut out by the Bottesford defence.
On the 22 minute, Rosso broke the deadlock when Hannah resumed his usual proceedings with a moment of individual brilliance on his full return from injury. The ball fell perfectly on the edge of the box of which, the number ten took no time but to emit a low driven, robust bullet into the bottom left hand corner, giving Graeme Anderson no chance of stopping it in goal for The Poachers.
Rosso came close to a second 13 minutes later after a great move by Kianga finished with Anderson saving Mitch Langton’s shot at the far top corner of which, Bottesford then defended the awarded corner shortly after.
On the 41 minute, Hannah confirmed his brace after Rosso was awarded a penalty. The number ten stepped up and confidently sent Anderson the wrong way with a brilliant strike to double the scoreline.
Six minutes after the restart and after Harry Middleton rattled the crossbar with a long-range attempt of which looked to have gone over the line but no goal was awarded, Sutton scored his first goal in a Rosso shirt. The number three made full use of Kianga’s squared cross to back post by confidently finding the back of the net.
Straight after the goal Sutton almost scored an identical goal to his first only this time Bottesford defended their lines well.
Bottesford attempted to get back into the game following a few substitutions however the final whistle came and went with Rosso confirming a much needed three points in front of 148 mostly joyful spectators at Oxford Street.
