Rosso return home this Saturday to face one of the early promotion favourites Penistone Church in the reverse fixture at Oxford Street.
Greg Young’s Rosso side are back in front of the home supporters this weekend with another tough test following a 2-2 away at Thackley on Saturday in what was Young’s first official game in charge since being appointed the new manager on a permanent basis.
Church make the trip over from Penistone following an all-round great start to the Northern Counties East League Premier 2024/25 campaign of which Stephen Lenthall’s side have delivered multiple convincing performances to see them amongst many as promotion contenders having occupied and been around top-spot early into this campaign.
Despite Rosso having completed the season double over Penistone last season, Rosso have already faced Church away in the current campaign and despite some good passages of play, Rosso were well beaten at the Parker Roofing Memorial Ground.

Last Time Out v Penistone
Rosso was defeated 4-1 last time the two sides came together only back in early September in front of 308 spectators at the Parker Roofing Memorial Ground. Nathan Keightley’s hat-trick and Leon Hurles-Brook’s goal was the four scored by Church as Manasse Kianga’s late finish was merely a consolation goal in which Penistone took all three points.
